Covid and Schools in Houghton Lake

Through much confusion and uncertainty, schools in Houghton Lake, Michigan have finally opened. The community of parents had to decide on how they would like the school to proceed, which I am sure is conflicting, considering how crazy the past eight months have been. Some parents wanted their kids to wear masks and go to school full time, some parents wanted full virtual, but it was decided that it would be a hybrid system put into place.
The hybrid system is a system that allows students to go to school for two days a week, and then do the rest of their course work online. Masks are optional, but not required. However, after a month of reopening schools, they have decided that in the beginning of November, students will go four days a week and be required to wear masks.
I understand the fear of the teachers, other students, and parents, but I miss being with my friends and socializing like I used to.-Some Student Somewhere
